What you will need

 

Yarn:  5 skeins from Mirafil Hose or any similar yarn in weight.

Gauge: 7 sts by 11rows will give you a 10 x 10 cm square using 15 mm hook.

Hook: 12 mm

Level: Easy

Size: Free size

Ch: chain

St: stitch

Dc: double crochet

BLO: back loop only

FLO: front loop only.

 

 

Pattern

 

ch 46

Row 1: Insert the hook in the 3rd chain from hook ( counts as dc) , dc in the next 43 sts, turn. ( 44 dc)

Row 2: Ch 3 ( counts as dc) in BLO  dc in the next 43 sts, turn. ( 44 dc)

Row 3: Ch3 ( counts as dc) in FLO dc in the next 43 sts, turn. ( 44 dc)

 

Repeat Row 2 and 3 till you finish row 19.

 

Row 20: Ch 3 (counts as dc) in FLO dc in the next 16 sts, turn. (17 dc). 

Row 21: Ch 3 (counts as dc) in BLO dc in the next 16 sts, turn. (17 dc).

 

Repeat Row 20 and 21 till you finish row 38. Fasten off and cut the yarn.

 

Go back to row and insert the yarn in the first st from the other side. 

 

Row 20: Ch 3 (counts as dc) in FLO dc in the next 16 sts, turn. (17 dc). 

You will notice that you skipped 10 sts in the middle and this is what should be to leave a space for the neck.

Row 21: Ch 3 (counts as dc) in BLO dc in the next 16 sts, turn. (17 dc).

 

Repeat Row 20 and 21 till you finish row 38. Fasten off and cut the yarn.

 

And here is your poncho where you could immediately wear it!
